چکیده
Today, inhabitants residing in floodplains face a serious and perpetual threat of flooding. Flooding causes fatalities considerable property damage metropolitan areas. Therefore, robust structural measures need to be adopted eliminate flood catastrophe. Structural the floodplain are most promising solutions. However, there cost-associated factors for proposing retention plan. Navsari city (98.36 km2, area extent) Gujarat was used as case study investigate impact mesh grid structures (100 m, 90 50 m) along with preparation The HEC-RAS 2D hydrodynamic model performed Purna River. output characterized by four different scenarios: (i) Without weir levees (WOWL), (ii) With (WW), (iii) (WL), (iv) (WWL). statistical parameters (R2, RMSE, NSE, inundation time, area) were determined evaluate accuracy. outcome revealed that m size exhibited more accurate results, yielding high NSE R2 values (0.982 0.9855), low RMSE value (0.450 m), smaller (114.61 km2). results further WW scenario effective measure it delayed water up 16 h, managed WOWL case. Moreover, mean error (WW scenario) estimated from profiles 1 2 ranged (−0.7 0.62) (−0.1 0.02 respectively, which evaluated very when compared other scenarios. novel scenario-based plan emphasizing stability using can applied any region around globe recommend efficacious decision making systems.

Predicting Flood Inundation and Risk Using Geographic Information System and Hydrodynamic Model
Foreword High flows of water is a common problem in most rivers. Earlier generations were more aware of the risks to build close to the rivers and the highest water level was locally known. Nowadays, building permits are more and more frequent below that level. Furthermore, forestry methods with clear cuts and drainage of wetlands result in a more rapid effect of heavy rain fall on the water fl...
متن کاملFlood Risk Management: An Illustrative Approach
Widespread flooding with significant damage in many countries, such as the Philippines in 2013, highlights the ongoing need for effective flood risk management (FRM). This hinges on comprehensive access to and dissemination of information about the elements and the people at risk. Simulations, real-time graphs, and maps illustrate the spatial distribution of flood risks, spatial allocation and ...

This paper presents the findings of an analysis of flood disaster trends in Asian countries during the last 30 years. The analysis was carried out to understand the changing characteristics of flood disasters in Asian countries in the past three decades with the rapid changes in socio-economic conditions. The second half of the paper presents the results of a modeling study of flood risk manage...
متن کاملDam-break Flood Risk Management. an Integrated Project
Contemporary dam safety regulations include risk assessment at downstream flood plains and consideration of potential damages due to dam rupture, regardless of the expected probability of occurrence of such event. The aim of these kind of procedures is to increase the safety level along the valley against abnormal floods caused by dam accidents. Emergency plans for downstream flood plains, incl...
متن کاملUsing a Grid-Enabled Wireless Sensor Network for Flood Management
Flooding is becoming an increasing problem. As a result there is a need to deploy more sophisticated sensor networks to detect and react to flooding. This paper outlines a demonstration that illustrates our proposed solution to this problem involving embedded wireless hardware, component based middleware and overlay networks.
